About This Attraction

The Historic Rivermill was built in 1910 to process arrowroot, and has historical significance to the Gold Coast. Some of the main features are a Museum of rural Australian artefacts and agricultural machinery, a waterfront cafe, animal petting farm, country chapel, garden centre, local fruit and vegetables, local arts and crafts, weddings, functions and conferences. The Historic Rivermill is abundant with native flora, fauna and wildlife, with turtles and water dragons around on a daily basis. Future projects include an international and domestic cooking school and linking with the local aboriginal and cultural heritage student programs.
